Haven for orphaned Orang Utans
It is the ideal place to find out how orphaned or displaced Orang Utans are trained to survive in all the basic skills. This rehabilitation center are given the appropriate training and guidance on how to survive and live in the rough environment of the jungles. The concept here is that once they are able to take care of themselves, then they will be released back into the forest so that they can enjoy and continue their livelihood in the natural environment.
Best times to visit
If you are visiting the Sanctuary, you should head out there at 10.00am and also around 2.30pm as these are the times when they come out from the jungles to enjoy their bananas and milk which are served daily. Here is where you will be able to be educated about the species and their natural surroundings and daily routines. At the sanctuary, you will be able to see how they live and eat as well as see many other species here. On the 5,666 hectare land of the reserve, there are also more than 200 different species of birds and vegetation as well.
