The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany or German Embassy Kuala Lumpur is the legal and official representation of the country of Germany in Malaysia. This is the place for anyone seeking any official business into Germany to obtain any necessary documents and approvals.

The Ambassador

The German Embassy Kuala Lumpur is currently led by Ambassador Nikolaus Graf Lambsdorff who assume this position since July 2017. Prior to being based in Malaysia, he was the Consul General to the Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR. Other similar roles include official positions in Turkey and others.

Services offered by the German Embassy

As the official representative of the German government in Malaysia, the German Embassy Kuala Lumpur operates through offering a string of services for both German citizens and foreigners who are intending to visit the country either for business, education, leisure or other purposes. This includes (although not limited) to the following:

  • Make appointments for official visit purposes. This includes meeting on visa and passport applications as well as any other services required
  • Visa and Entry into Germany – Obtain information and application for a visa into Germany. This includes finding out the requirements for whatever reason. Passport requirements, short-term visa stays for business, tourism, medical or visits and long-term stays
  • Special requirements for Yemen and Syria citizens
  • Legalization of documents – Applicable for Malaysians to have official documents legalized and notarized at the embassy.
