The skin is the largest organ on our body and that can also be considered the one that is most constantly exposed. And without a doubt there are a variety of products in the market targeted towards the skin. It is not just about being vain but keeping your skin in a healthy condition would obviously benefit yourself. The only problem is that some may be confused when entering the local supermarket to buy the skin care product as they may be overwhelmed with the sheer amount of products that are out there in the market. Some associate the condition of the skin with genetics while some relate it with other factors such as the environment, what we eat and so on. We will usually focus on the facial area of the skin as it is thin and delicate if compared to the other areas of the body. And causes such as age spots, pimples, dryness, enlarged pores and many other factors can mar the skin. Whatever the reason that we have the skin today, let’s look at some of the tips and advice that may help us in achieving the skin condition that we desire. There are many different types of ways to improve the skin tone and texture; however you should take note that not all methods will suit you. This is because in some cases the product that you use can even make your skin condition to become worse than it originally was. So before you go out to buy the skin care products, make sure you know what skin type you are first so that you can make your shopping easier as well as purchasing something that will not cause more trouble for you.

Keeping hydrated is not just important for your body but for your skin as well.

Dryness is the main cause as to why some people have uneven skin tones. Eight cups of water a day is not a promotional gimmick by the water bottle companies so that they can sell their products at a faster rate. It is not just important for your body but your skin will benefit from it as well. Redness and dryness on the skin is usually what happens when people do not drink water and for those will enlarge pores they will be happy to know that keeping the skin constantly hydrated will make the pores less visible than they normally are. Some people just don’t like the taste of water as it is basically – tasteless. You can substitute it will fruit juices but water is still the preferred choice.

Dead skins, be gone!

Exfoliation is the key to having that glowing, youthful Hollywood type of skin tone. This is because as you exfoliate you are basically removing the dead skin cells from your body, so no matter how many times you wash your face, if you do not exfoliate it is no use as the dead skin cells will eventually build up. Once this starts to happen, the dead skin cells will block your pores that will result in stretched enlarged pores, blackheads and the number thing that most teenagers dread to see when the look at themselves in the mirror every morning – pimples. Not to mention that your skin will start to look older, duller and dryer.

You can exfoliate in a variety of ways and this includes manual exfoliation where you use a relatively rough surface that is able to remove the impurities and dead skin away. There are many types of manual exfoliation for you to choose from such as exfoliating scrubs, cloths and so on. One thing that you need to be aware of when you are exfoliating is to not be to rough or choose a scrub that has hard edges as this will irritate the skin even further and make the skin problem much more worse that it was before.

Besides this you also have another option which is to use chemical exfoliation, this is where you use chemicals to remove the dead skins away as opposed to the manual exfoliation that was explained earlier. Again there are a variety of chemicals for you to choose such as alpha or beta hydroxy lotions, fruit acids and acid peels/masks. They act from the inside out by getting right into the pores to do the cleansing and to achieve maximum results combine it with the occasional manual exfoliation. However, a note of warning; you should be careful while using the chemical exfoliation for your skin tone. It is best to start with something that is gentler and see how your skin reacts to it. The last thing that you want is your skin to get even more irritated than before, so research the products before you go buying for them.

As you get older your skin condition will not be as perfect as the day that you were born, hence the term supple skin like a baby. With the combination of age, time and hormones the effects of it will begin to show on your skin. It is not the end of the world, yes, you would not have perfect skin but when you follow this regime you can be for certain that you will have healthy skin and that is what is more important. If you have bad skin condition, it is your own fault that you let it become that way as it will take time to develop to the way it is. So you should not expect it to become better within a day, the key here is patience and finding what suits you the best.
