Soy and corn are among the most commonly taken foods in most diets. In the modern supermarket, soy products could be GMO produced. This is the same with corn. So, how bad are they really?
GMO Soy products and hazards
It has been reported recently that most soy beans have been genetically modified and that in itself would be a problem.
Are all soy products GMO produced?
The answer is, most. Soy foods have been listed in many hazardous foods where it is not even close to being a healthy option. In fact sales of soy food has increased in the last decade or so.
Besides fermented soy, most soy products are produced through GMO means. This is where the producers spray herbicide which can be very toxic to kill he weeds and in return help to improve production. The main problem is Asian food use a lot of soy products. If not moderated, this could lead to diseases like:
- Breast cancer
- Infant abnormalities
- Thyroid disorders
- Kidney stones
- Impaired fertility
- and the list goes on
How about GMO Corn?
On the other hand, GMO corn has been gaining traction in terms of countries rejecting this item. It was reported recently that as many as 6 countries in the EU has taken a strong against GMO corn. It was found that MON 810 was used in GMO Corn and this was quite similar to using pesticides that will cause problems like:
- liver failure
- Kidney problems
- inflammation disorders
