Top Indoor Theme parks in Malaysia

Malaysia has some of the most exciting places of interest as a tourist destination. Besides the islands and beach resorts, there are many places of interests for those who opt to stay indoors so as not to get burnt by the heat and sunlight.

There are several theme parks that operate indoors across Malaysia. You need to be aware that not all theme parks are entirely fun and exciting some of which are just designed as an added feature within a mall or so. As such, take note of those that are in the top list as not all theme parks are the same.

EnerZ Indoor Extreme Park

The EnerZ Indoor Theme Park is like its name implies an indoor extreme parks. It is one of the coolest and newest additions in terms of attractions in the state of Selangor. Located in Subang Jaya, you will find a myriad of extreme sports to enjoy here. Covering an 80,000 square feet space, there is something for everyone here. Among them includes:

  1. Trampoline Park – This is supposedly the largest trampoline park in Asia where you get to jump just about anywhere in the park.
  2. Wall for climbing – Kids and adults can try their hand in wall climbing. The 30-feet wall comes with ropes and belay equipment with trained staff to help you get to the top
  3. Gut Builder – This is one of the tough ones. You can try to get through the 3-level course and many other games to test your problem solving skills
  4. Dodge Ball – This game is different because you play it on the trampoline.
  5. Badminton – If you want something less extreme, you can play this classic game. Simple

Amped Trampoline Park

This is another trampoline and extreme park in PJ. It is in Bukit Utama you get to jump just about anywhere around the space. But that’s not all because there are other attractions here too. If you are up for some obstacles, you can try out the Power Tower or go for the Wall Climb. From RM19 for the first hour, you get to play dodgeball and basketball too!

District21 Theme Park

Located in IOI City Mall in Bangi, this is a cool place to go which has been operating since 2014. This indoor theme park is one of the most unique ones in the region. Operating in a 70,000 square foot of space, it has a post-apocalyptic theme to it. In fact, you can enjoy more than 10 attractions here which are all specially designed for this park. Among them are:

Jungle Gym Atria

This is one for the kids. Jungle Gym Atria is one of the places to put your kids if you want to go shopping around the mall. It is safe and has a lot of attractions that will keep the kids occupied for a long time. It has a different price for kids of all ages like:

  1. Toddlers – below 2 years old – RM16 for weekdays and RM22 for weekends
  2. Kids above 2 years old – RM30 for weekdays and RM38 for weekends
  3. Roller Sports – RM30 for weekdays and RM38 for weekends

One of the highlights of this indoor theme park is that kids are free to roam anywhere and enjoy the games and other items around the playgrounds. Occasionally, there are birthday parties and other events too.

Shangri-la Splash Zone in Penang

The Splash Zone is one of the indoor parks located at Shangri-La’s Golden Sands Resort along the coast in Penang’s Batu Ferringghi. To say that it is an indoor theme park might not be entirely accurate as it is a water park located ‘inside’ the resort. There are 2 big pools here and a mini park for the kids to swirl around.

Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park

Any parent with a newborn or kids will know the characters from the Little Red Cube. The Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park in Johor Bahru is where the kids will enjoy a variety of games, activities and fun with their favourite cartoon characters. This is among the reasons why Johor Bahru has been known as one of the top family holiday destinations. This is actually a few parks with their own set of characters that include:

Angry Birds Activity Park

This theme park is located inside Komtar JBCC in Johor Bahru, one of the modern skyscrapers down south. Kids will start running the moment they enter the park made up of 20,000 square feet of games and activities. They get to jump on the trampoline and into the cushion sea, shoot the pigs like how the game is and join some of the rides. You can buy a single entry for RM75 or RM60 for Malaysians or get an annual pass from about RM200 per person.

Kidzania Kuala Lumpur

This international name is one of the most popular theme parks to have come to Malaysia. Located at Mutiara Damansara just next to The Curve Shopping Center and IKEA, kids get to try being grown ups. There are more than 100 activities here for them to try where they will be able to do what their parents do or to live out their ambitions. Among the most popular ones are firefighter, chef and pilot.
